The
Club relies heavily on the subscriptions of its members, largely because we have no
sponsors as yet, nor a parent club to look after us. Subscription covers the cost of
training pitches throughout the season (mainly) and other administrative costs such as
trophies etc.
The
most cost-effective way of joining the club is to pay full subscription and join for
the whole year but there is no obligation to do this. You could just come along to our
weekly training sessions; perhaps you are interested in fitness and some company; or
perhaps you'd like to play hockey but do not want to commit to competitive matches.
You are welcome to come along and join us - the first two sessions are free and we
would ask you to contribute to the cost of the pitch thereafter. We always retreat to
the bar afterwards for a drink and a chat, and you would be welcome to join us there
too.
We
would of course be delighted if you were to join us fully and take part in our matches
but there again, if you are reluctant to commit yourself to regular matches, you could
pay the basic joining fee and then pay for any training or Saturday match fees that
you take part in.
If
you would like information about the club, about how to join or find out more about
hockey in general, please email our Club
Secretary (Roz).
